Daryl, you’re right to ask brake system compatibility can be tricky on hybrids. Most hybrid vehicles like the Maveric use non-vacuum electric assist brakes, and that’s one of the setups that the Shadow 2 # RVi94FR by Curt is built for. Just make sure your Maverick isn’t using a traditional hydro boost system.

One trick: turn on tow mode and pump the brakes - if you hear a quiet electric pump engage, you’ve likely got the compatible system. Another trick is to make sure there are no hydraulic lines running from the power steering system to your brake booster since those lines would be a solid giveaway that you have the rare hydroboost.

Since your Allegro has a 7-way connector and standard coach wiring, you should have no problem supplying power to the built-in towed battery charger as well.

Where are some of your favorite places to travel?
