Question:

Do you know when you will have a direct replacement for Kia R0F67 AC600 hitch wiring for 2025 kia carnival built after Aug 2024? Thanks

No, I do not Paul and I doubt Curt or Draw-Tite make anything other than a 4-way for the hybrid model. Aftermarket wiring harnesses for vans are typically limited to 4-way connectors like the item # C63RV for LED lights or the item # C32MJ for incandescent lights. I checked with Curt and these are confirmed to fit the 2025 Kia Carnival Hybrid.

To add a 7-way connector you would also need the Universal Installation Kit item # ETBC7. The kit includes a pre-wired 7- and 4-way trailer connector that mounts easily at the rear of your Kia with an included bracket. This kit is designed for use on a vehicle with an existing 4-way flat trailer connector and plugs directly into it.

You will then connect the blue wire to the blue wire on the brake controller, connect the black wire to the positive post on your van's battery, the white wire to a suitable ground, and the yellow wire to the accessory circuit. This will provide you with the ability to control your trailer's brakes and also provide you with a 12v power wire for you trailer's battery.

What kind of trailer do you have?

It's actually for my son, and I'm not sure he has a particular trailer in mind. According to online forums, Carnival Hybrids built after October, 2024 are pre-wired for towing and have a different connector than the 4-pin harness that fits the earlier models. That cable doesn't work. This is reinforced by the fact that the links you gave come up as "does not fit your vehicle" went I follow them (I already entered his vehicle data). The Kia factory harness for the later models (about $210-$290) ends in a 7pin connector. I assume that means that it has a connector in the front for the brake controller, or maybe they do the brake control in the vehicle software? That's certainly possible - it's just a programmable 0-12V output and the computer probably knows everything it needs to know to control the trailer brakes. I think he's ok with the 4-pin connector, but, as the vehicle is pre-wired for it, why not get the 7-pin? He was just hoping an aftermarket version might be available for less $$. >$200 is a bit pricy for a cable...

By the way, here's the forum page I mentioned: https://www.carnivalforums.com/threads/trailer-wiring-for-2025-carnival-hybrid-and-ice.1607/

@PaulZ Thanks. The Curt 4-way Connectors item # C63RV for LED lights or the item # C32MJ for incandescent lights install behind the tail lights on both the hybrid and standard model 2025 Kia Carnivals. They completely avoid that port the Kia R0F67 AC600 and the item # 118784 plug into.
