Will The Furrion Chill Cube AC Work With Spyder Controller?

Updated 08/05/2025 | Published 08/01/2025

Question:

Hi, I’d like to replace all 3 of my Coleman low profile AC’s with Furrion Cube Chill 18k’s. Will they work through my existing Spyder control? And I’m guessing I need the ducted models for the swap. 17 Vanleigh Vilano Are there any discounts for such a purchase?

Hi Nash!

I have not heard of Spyder controllers, but the new Furrion Chill Cubes will only work with their own specific Chill Cube control units. This is due to them being wired specifically for their own stuff and the fairly recent change to the new R32 coolant that all manufacturers were required to update to by the EPA. I am not 100% sure if your 2017 Vanleigh Vilano uses ducted or ductless, though I am fairly sure it's ducted (the literature on their models I could find was a bit lacking). I would double check just to make sure, but I have both options below.

If you have a ducted system you will want the Furrion Chill Cube RV Air Conditioner w Air Distribution Box item # FR39TD. If you have a furnace, I would go with at least one of the # FR49TD as it includes the wall thermostat that will let you control it. Could go with three and have three wall mounted thermostats, but I think that's a bit overkill since all the Chill Cubes include a remote.

If you have a ductless system you'll need the Furrion Chill Cube RV Air Conditioner w Air Distribution Box item # FR27TD. There is no wall mounted thermostat for the ductless ones yet, but that will likely change in the near future.

We do not currently have any discounts running (Aug 2025), but we definitely have free shipping for an order like this!

Out of curiosity, why are you replacing your Coleman ACs?

Mine are 8 years old and I’m guessing on their last season or so. They freeze up and don’t work smoothly. Besides instead of doing soft starts on them I can save that money and put it towards the 3 new units. I’m going to be doing the flex armor roof this winter so now is a good time.

@NashW These not needing a soft start device is definitely cool! Yay bad puns! 8 Years is a pretty good life out of a roof top AC unit and if they are starting to freeze up and not run very well, it is time to replace them for sure. Especially since you will already be up there! : ) Let me know if there is anything else you need!
