Recommended Bike Rack w/ Handle Bar Spacing for a 5th Wheel Trailer

Updated 08/15/2025 | Published 07/27/2025

Question:

We have two e-bikes. One weights 53lbs and the other one is 60lbs. We have a fifth wheel with a 2” hitch.. Can you recommend a high quality, easy to use bike rack? I’m concerned about the handle hitting the back window of the RV. Your help is appreciated!

Hey Sharon, congrats on the new 5th wheel trailer. Those Brinkley's are super nice! To add a bike rack, I recommend the Hollywood Racks RV Rider item # HLY64FR. This bike rack has a 80 lbs per bike capacity and weighs only 63-1/2 lbs. The padded clamps will secure your bikes by the frame or seat post. The RV Rider is rated to be used behind a 5th wheel trailer, motorhome, or any motor vehicle with a 2" class III equivalent receiver.

As far as clearance for your handle bars go you should be good but here's some measurements for you to confirm. The center of the hitch pin hole to the center of the wheel hoop on the Hollywood Racks RV Rider Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes item # HLY64FR is 14-1/2". You'll want to measure from the center of your handle bar post out to the end on your heaviest bike, and then figure out where the hitch pin hole on your Brinkley's receiver is in relation to the rear window. The heaviest bike will mount in the position closest to your trailer.

Does your hitch stick out past the rear window on your Brinkley?

Hey Sharon, did you get a chance to measure the clearance for your bike's handlebar with the Hollywood Racks RV Rider? I'm curious to know if it worked out for you, as it could help others with similar setups!
