What is Best and Quietest RV AC Unit for Master Bedroom

Published 07/22/2025

Question:

HI, I just started looking into adding a second AC unit to my 5th wheel RV, it is wired for one in the front bedroom and has the rooftop vent, So Im thinking I want something lower profile. Would be AC power. I looked at a couple and it didnt show the panel that would be on the inside. Our other rooftop unit is black so might stay with a black unit but I dont think color is that big of deal. Thanks

Hey Ryan, since this is a bedroom AC unit I would recommend going with a quieter AC unit like the Furrion Chill Cube part # FR27TD which is by far the quietest and coldest blowing option available. This is also designed to fit into a RV roof vent opening like what you have as well and is black in color. It also comes with everything needed to install as well.

Is there a low profile option?

@Ryan For the Cube no there isn't. There are somewhat similar low profile units that are coming at some point like the Chill HE Low Profile but they are months away from being available. How come you were wanting the low profile?

@JamesonC because it is going on top of the highest point of the 5th wheel camper and I just like the thought of a low profile unit to keep the overall height down.

@Ryan That makes sense! To put things into perspective the Chill Cube is 14-1/2 inches tall and the Chill HE low profile like the part # FR89AD is right at 10 inches tall so the height difference is really only about 4-1/2 inches.
