How to Remove the Outer Brake Pads on the 10" Rotor Kodiak Disc Brake Kit K2R35S

Updated 08/15/2025 | Published 07/21/2025

Question:

I have a question regarding my recent purchase of 10 Kodiak SS trailer brakes. How do you go about changing the outer brake pad on the caliper? It seems to be locked in place. How does it come out of the caliper?

Hey Doug. You'll need to loosen the bolts and remove the caliper off of the rotor enough to slide the outer brake pads up and out on the Kodiak Disc Brake Kit - 10" Rotor - 5 on 4-1/2 - Stainless Steel - 3,500 lbs item # K2R35S.

Why are you trying to change the brake pads in a brand new disc brake kit?

Hey Doug, did you manage to loosen the caliper and change the brake pads on your Kodiak brakes? I'm curious because it might help others who are facing the same issue.
