Air Compressor Kit Recommendation to Work with Ride-Rite Air Bags on a 2018 Chevy Silverado 1500

Updated 07/24/2025 | Published 07/19/2025

Question:

Looking at getting F2430 bags and F56vv for my 2018 Silverado 1500 crew cab standard bed 4×4. Would like a totally normal drill install if possible and ability to air up if the compressor dies. What other parts will I need. Any other recommendations?

Hey Cody, thanks for reaching out!

Great choice with the Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs # F2430 and Air Command Heavy Duty Air Compressor # F56VV!

Since you're wanting a reserve to work if the compressor ever fails, I recommend getting the Air Lift WirelessONE Tank Kit # AL67DQ instead. This has a compressor that installs the "normal" way of drilling, and the tank gives you 2 gallons of air you can use to still fill the bags if the need arises.

What are your thoughts on this?

I thought about that but I think I would be fine with just having the manual fill line run to the back. Would I need to buy a tee to do that? Also is there a no drill mounting plate for the compressor that would work with my truck?

@CodyS The Firestone Compressor Kit # F56VV you looked at comes with a whole mounting kit so you don't have to drill into your frame. This does come with tees so you can still use the manual fill valves if desired. Air Lift doesn't have any of these kinds of hardware kits so Firestone will be the way to go in your case.
