Question:
I have a 2000 Blue Bird Wanderlodge that needs new ac/heater units. The current ones are Dometic Penguin 13,500 but with Heat strip heat. There is not an inside Dometic part, they are ducted and the control board is in the roof unit. The ones that are there have steel pans that mount to the roof and I would prefer to not have plastic/foam bases. I need three new units plus the new thermostat/controller. I also would prefer heat strips and not heat pumps. I have pictures if you need them.

Hey Paul,
Since we do not have an exact replacement for that Penguin I recommend the Furrion 13,500 BTU Chill HE # FR85TD, with the added on heat strip # FR63PR. These AC systems do require a distribution box inside in order to operate. Is does include a multi-zone thermostat and controller in the kit that would allow individual control of different units in different areas. The Furrion units are going to be the most efficient and quietest out of the brands we carry making for a great upgrade for your RV.
As of 2024 we no longer have parts that work cross brands, so a new system is what would be needed to replace anything. Are you a full timer in your RV?

Thank you for your reply. It seems that E Trailer does not distribute an AC that will replace the ones on my Wanderlodge. Thank you for your assistance and I will continue to research AC manufacturers.
