Solution for Trailer Drop Axle that Blocks Brake Adjustement Star
Updated 07/07/2025 | Published 06/27/2025 >
Question:
The 4” axle blocks the break adjustment hole. Is there a special tool for this job? I also had to raise my fenders a little. This was expected.

Hey Paul, this is a great question but basically you can rotate the assemblies forward or back so that you can access the adjustment window as needed. Or if the assemblies you have are self adjusting you wouldn't ever really have to mess with it.

If I rotate the brake assembly to adjust the brake shoes, can I leave the backing plate in this new location? It would position the magnet in the 3:00 o’clock or 9 o’clock position instead of at the 6 o’clock position. Thanks This would really help.
