The Sleeve-Lock Trailer Coupler part # CTA-296 which is designed to be used with something like the Ram 3-Position Adjustable Channel Bracket part # CTA-CB4 measures 9-7/8" from the center of the mounting holes to the tip of the coupler.

That said, the longer the trailer coupler is, the more your weight capacity will be reduced so most trailer coupler manufactures don't really list the coupler lengths. If you need to extend the connection between the vehicle and trailer I simply recommend a longer ball mount like the Flint Hill Goods Adj Tri-Ball Mount part # FHG92VR which measures 13" from the center of the hitch pin hole to the center of the hitch ball. This is a much safer way of going about the above. I have attached our list of longer ball mounts below as well if the above won't work.

Hi. Can I use longer ball mount with this FHG92VR to move my trailer further? Like this one for example: 325-GH-054? Thanks

@LongerS Sorry but I cannot recommend doing that. It is tricky because the # FHG92VR ball mount has only been tested and rated using the "shorter" ball mount that is included with it. Using a longer shank moves the center of weight farther from the hitch which exaggerates the downward force. So you get into unknown weight capacities which is a dangerous game. The # FHG92VR ball mount should only be used with the included short ball mount.

@JesseM Thank you, sir. Then plz, recommend 2” hitch ball mount long enough for me to be able to open tailgate. At this time trailer jack is on the way. Existing hitch ball mount is about 11.5” from the receiver hole to the Center of the 5/16 ball.

@Vlad How much extra length would you say you need on top of the current 11.5" ? We do have some extended ball mounts like the Hidden Hitch Ball Mount # 80232. This is 6K rated and measures 15-3/4" from the hitch pin hole to the center of the ball. You could use that with the 2" ball part # 63845.
