Troubleshooting A Roadmaster Even Brake That's Failing The Initial Installation Self Test

Question:

Even brake tests the brake pedal 2 times and then turns red. Checked the signal to the icx and gets 13 volts but I can’t go any farther with the setup

It sounds to me like you might have an issue with the connection of the ICX transmitter and the brake signal from the towed vehicle. You're getting the power to the ICX transmitter to activate the Even Brake # RM-9400 but not the signal from the vehicle. You'll want to recheck how you connected to the transmitter to the brake light switch, whether that's with a brake-lite relay kit, stop light switch kit, or if your vehicle's brake light switch wire was useable to connect directly to. If you're getting constant voltage instead of only reading voltage when the brake pedal is depressed then you're spliced into the wrong wire.
