Heavy trailer, camper, or bed loads can leave your truck squatting and less controlled. These air springs add up to 5,000 lbs of leveling support to reduce sag, sway, and bottoming, while internal jounces let you run 0 psi unloaded.

Highlights

  • Custom Fit for Your Truck: Vehicle-specific brackets and hardware position the air springs for your truck's rear suspension.
  • Level Heavy Rear Loads: Up to 5,000 lbs of supplemental support helps reduce rear sag with substantial trailer, camper, or bed weight.
  • Match Support to the Load: Adjust air pressure to suit changing towing and hauling loads instead of running one fixed level of support.
  • Run at 0 psi Unloaded: Internal jounce bumpers let you bleed the air springs down to 0 psi once the extra load comes off.
  • Built for Life Under Your Truck: Stainless steel hardware and braided air lines add corrosion resistance where the system faces road spray and weather.
  • Upgrade Your Air Control: Add a compatible onboard compressor or control system for more convenient pressure changes.

Features to know about

Level the Rear Under Heavy Loads

When trailer weight, a slide-in camper, or a heavy bed load settles your truck onto its rear suspension, squat and extra body movement can make the truck feel less controlled. The two adjustable rear air springs add supplemental support to help reduce sag, sway, and bottoming while letting you tune the suspension to the weight you're carrying. With up to 5,000 lbs of load-leveling capacity, you can add only the pressure the load calls for instead of treating maximum pressure as the default. Your truck can sit closer to level and remain more controlled while carrying or towing substantial weight.

Add Support, Then Drop to 0 psi

A truck that tows one day and runs empty the next doesn't need the same rear-suspension support all the time. Internal jounce bumpers let you add air when your trailer, camper, or cargo is aboard, then reduce the air springs to 0 psi once that load comes off. Those internal jounces also protect the air springs against bottoming when suspension travel is used up. You get the support your truck needs under weight without having to keep air in the bags simply to protect them when you're driving empty.

Corrosion Resistance Where Exposure Hits Hardest

Suspension hardware lives where road spray, dirt, and weather reach it, so material choices matter underneath your truck. This kit uses braided stainless steel air lines along with stainless steel fittings, Schrader valves, roll plates, and mounting hardware to add corrosion resistance throughout key parts of the system. That extra durability is focused where it matters, helping the hardware you rely on for load support and pressure adjustment stand up to the environment beneath a working truck.

Custom Installation

You'll start by measuring your truck's stock ride height and checking tire-to-frame clearance before removing the factory jounce bumpers, with rear-wheel removal optional if you want more working room. The air spring assemblies mount between the frame and axle, with some wiring-harness hardware loosened and brake-line clearance checked as the brackets are positioned and aligned. Trucks without fifth-wheel brackets use upper U-bolts around the frame, while trucks with fifth-wheel hardware require drilling mounting holes for the upper brackets. Once everything is aligned and torqued, you'll trim the lower J-bolts for clearance, install the passenger-side exhaust heat shield, then route the braided stainless steel air lines before mounting the Schrader valves where they're easy to reach. Adding air bags is a job experienced DIYers can handle, but if you would rather leave it to a professional, we can help you find an installer near you.

Upgrade Your Air Control

The included Schrader valves give you everything you need to adjust the air springs manually, but pulling out an external compressor can get old if your towing or hauling setup changes frequently. You can add a Pacbrake Bravo Wireless Air Control Kit (sold separately) to adjust pressure from your phone, check live pressure, and save presets for loads you come back to regularly. Also, you'll be able to choose between filling both air springs together or controlling them independently when the load isn't even side to side. It's an optional upgrade, but one that makes the adjustable part of an air-spring system much easier to use regularly. And it's not the only solution available. There are a variety of compressor options from Pacbrake that might be the perfect fit for your setup.

Video Transcript for Review of Pacbrake Vehicle Suspension - Alpha HD Pro Rear Axle Air Bag Kit Jounce Stainless - PB77XV

Hi everybody. Andy here with etrailer. Let's take a quick look at this pack brake Alpha HD Pro rear axle airbag suspension kit with internal jounce bumpers and stainless steel hardware. So this has been designed to fit your 2019 to current Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra 1500s, either the two-wheel or four-wheel drive models. Then your 2022 Silverado and Sierra 1500 LTD or limited, again with the two-wheel or four-wheel drive models. Now, in custom fit parts such as this kit, I do recommend going through our vehicle fit guide here at etrailer.

Pop in the year, make and model of your vehicle, and answer any other questions that it might have for you, and our fit guide will confirm if this kit will work for you or if we have something comparable that will work for you. So as you know, when the load gets heavy, your truck is going to need more than just those rear springs hanging on for dear life. These airbags are going to give you up to 5,000 pounds of rear axle support, keeping your truck level and steady even when your trailer is loaded or your bed is packed and the miles are long. So, no more rear end sag that you're going to have to worry about throwing off your braking or steering or your headlights pointing up to the sky. Now, as you also know, bottoming out just doesn't feel rough.

It can actually wreck your airbags. That's why this system includes jounce bumpers inside each bag, as you can see there on that cutaway on your screen. So even with no air pressure, your suspension has a built-in safety net. You're going to be able to safely run at zero PSI when unloaded, which means no harsh rebound, just that smooth factory style ride. Now this kit includes the stainless steel braided airlines.

They're going to be more durable and resistant to wear compared to the standard rubber lines. You're also going to get these stainless steel roll plates that are going to help protect the airbags along with Schrader valve, so you can easily inflate or adjust the air pressure using a standard air source. On your screen, I'm including two photos there. The top photo is the standard hardware along with the brackets and airline that you're going to get. But since this also has the stainless steel hardware, that's what you see there at the bottom as well.

That stainless steel upgrade kit is included with this. So you're going to be getting everything that you see there on your screen. And that stainless steel is a big upgrade because the components are built to last in harsher conditions. Stainless steel resists rust and corrosion much better than the standard materials, and it's also stronger and less prone to damage. So you're going to be less likely to deal with leaks or wear over time. Now, every hull is different. That's why these airsprings are going to give you full control over the ride height and firmness with adjustable air pressure from five to 100 PSI. So if you're hauling a fifth wheel or a full bed of gravel, you can crank that pressure up. Then when you're unloaded and heading home, just drop that pressure back down for that softer ride. Now these springs are built with one inch thick corrosion resistant end caps. They're reinforced with 20 internal support wires for maximum strength under load. And then the precision laser cut brackets, they're designed to bolt cleanly to your truck's existing mounting points without welding or drilling to your frame. Instructions are going to be included. And as I mentioned, these do give you a load leveling support of up to 5,000 pounds, but just remember that airbags do not actually increase your truck's weight capacity, so you want to make sure that you're not exceeding your manufacturer's recommended weight limit. One final note, if you need help with installation on this product page, you'll find a link underneath the photo section. That's our installer locator link. You click that, answer the question that it has for you, and that locator will find an installer in your area that we have partnered with to do the install for you. If you happen to have any other questions though, don't hesitate to reach out to us. We do want to make sure that you're getting exactly what you need. Well, again, my name's Andy. Thank you for joining me.

Parts fit perfectly, directions were very easy to understand.

It was easy to order and the stuff I ordered is just what I was looking for. The people who helped me was great

Great set up. Easy to install. Much better than the Timbren bump stops.

This is a very nice kit. I installed on my new 2026 Silverado 2500hd. Installation was pretty straight forward, but still took a bit of thinking. After everything is mounted correctly there is a slight lean to the bags (not completely perpenticular to the mounting plates). I called Pacbrake support and they assured me this was normal and nothing to be concerned with. I had the equivalent AirLift kit on my 2007 Silverado 2500hd and I think I like the Pacbrake kit better. Everything seems a bet "beefier".

Did not fit my truck 2026 Silverado 1500 4x4, website said it would fit, it does not fit, as axle plate is Square on my truck, this kit have round axle plate that interferes with spring shackle bolts, would not fit or even be centered. SO I am returning them, this needs to be corrected on your website, it does not fit the 2026 Silverado 1500 2x2 or 4x4!

I am very sorry to hear that these did not work for you John. I see on both the Pacbrake site and our site they are listed to not work with the Adaptive Ride Control, do you have that on your Silverado 1500? I am trying to get to the bottom of this so I can get the information corrected on both sites if needed.

Great product!

I have no problems with the quality or the install. My one problem is the instructions, when you order the stainless steel kit, it comes with a separate box to replace the hardware. That's totally fine, but it would be nice if they could work that in the instructions for when to install the stainless steel airlines because you can install them at the same time that you can the push in plastic lines. Besides that, these are an insane set of airbags. When I ride at zero psi cuz I got the ones with the internal jounce bumpers, I did not expect this but it smooths out my ride. That's a super huge plus.

by:

The only reason I bought this kit is because I was told I could put zero psi when not towing and I would not lose the factory suspension comfort. That information was wrong its a horrible ride now and I regret getting these bags. Was also told that they don't off this kit without the stainless upgrade so I had to buy it, but when it shipped there was a separate box with the stainless kit and they regular stuff was in the same box as the bags feels like I got ripped off on this deal

  • Can I Use Leaf Spring Suspension Kits on 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 with Mono Leaf
Hi Danny, great question! Short answer, no, The Hellwig helper springs part # HE38FR won’t work with the mono leaf suspension on your 2022 Sierra 1500. I know that can be frustrating, especially when you’re just trying to get rid of sag or improve how the truck handles a load. These Hellwig helper springs are designed to sit on top of a traditional multi-leaf steel spring pack and use that stack of leaves for support. With a mono leaf setup, there isn’t the same structure for the helper...

  • Does Install of Pacbrake Alpha HD Kit on 2026 GMC Sierra 1500 Require Spacer Kit
Hey Jon, this is a great question but the 7.5 inch measurement mentioned in the instructions would be the distance measured with the weight of the truck on the suspension and not suspended in the air like you mentioned. So in your case you would want the spacer you mentioned which is our part # PB73VV. Your pictures did not happen to make it through though. Are you doing some towing with your truck?

  • Can Helper Springs Replace an Andersen Weight Distribution Hitch?
It really depends on what your Andersen weight distribution hitch is currently doing for your setup. If you are mainly using the Andersen to help with rear sag and leveling the truck, then helper springs can sometimes reduce or even eliminate the need for the weight distribution portion. But if you are also relying on the Andersen for sway control and keeping the front axle planted and steering stable, then I would still recommend keeping the weight distribution hitch in place. A lot of...
