Will Old Man Emu Springs for 2025 Toyota 4Runner Reduce Suspension Sag

Updated 06/24/2025 | Published 06/20/2025

Question:

2025 Toyota 4 Runner SR5 4WD Curious if these OME springs would correct about 2” of sag at the wheel wells I get when hauling camping gear and e-bikes on a hitch rack. Or would air bags make more sense?

Hey Andy, so the Old Man Emu springs part # ARB93FR that you referenced are considerably heavier springs than what came stock on your 2025 Toyota 4Runner so it will do a great job getting rid of the sag. These are rated for 260 lb per inch whereas OEM is 150 so it's quite a bit more. These aren't adjustable at all like air springs are so you'd need to consider that. Do you think this is what you'd want over air springs like the # AL58FF?

I like the idea of the simplicity of stiffer coils that font need attention and adjusting like air bags. On the other hand, this is my daily driver and it’s unloaded 95% of the time. So if the OME springs are stiffer at the top-mid compression range I can imagine that’d feel pretty harsh around town.

@AndyS It is a progressively rated spring so it won't feel super harsh but in order for it to get rid of sag relative to unloaded height it does have to be higher rated even at the top of the range.
