Features to know about

Enhance Load Stability: Rear Suspension Air Springs

When you're carrying heavy payloads or towing large trailers, keeping your vehicle level can be a challenge. The Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 air springs provide up to 5,000 lbs of load-leveling support for your rear suspension, reducing sag and improving both braking and steering. By distributing the load evenly, these air springs ensure you maintain a safe and smooth ride, no matter the cargo.

Versatile Adjustability: Front-to-Rear and Side-to-Side Leveling

Hauling uneven loads can put significant strain on your vehicle's suspension. With the LoadLifter 5000, you can manually adjust the air pressure from 5 psi to 100 psi for optimal load distribution. Inflate each spring independently to meet specific leveling needs, whether front-to-rear or side-to-side. This adjustability helps diminish sway and road shock, offering a stable towing experience.

Improved Vehicle Safety: Quality Air Spring Components

Protect your investment and enhance safety with the LoadLifter 5000's robust design. Constructed from high-quality, two-ply, fabric-reinforced rubber, these air bags are paired with endcaps made from high-strength Zytel nylon, which resists corrosion and damage better than steel. This thoughtful construction safeguards your air springs, extending their lifespan and ensuring consistent performance.

Customizable Load Handling: Optional Air Compressor System

For those who want ease of use, consider adding an air compressor system, like the Air Lift WirelessAIR. This system allows you to adjust the air pressure directly from your vehicle's cab, providing flexibility on the go. Monitor and personalize your suspension settings effortlessly, ensuring your vehicle remains level and ready to tackle any terrain or load.

Reduced Wear and Tear: Protects Your OEM Suspension

Carrying heavy loads can wreak havoc on your vehicle's original suspension, leading to accelerated wear and costly repairs. By using the LoadLifter 5000, you can significantly decrease the stress placed on your OEM suspension components. Not only does this protect against uneven tire wear and unsafe headlight aim, but it also contributes to the overall longevity of your vehicle's systems.

Protect Your Investment: Made in the USA with Quality Assurance

Built to last, your Air Lift air helper springs are proudly made in the USA. Backed with a lifetime warranty, you can trust its durability and performance for every mile of your journey. Video Transcript for Review of Air Lift Vehicle Suspension - LoadLifter 5000 Air Helper Springs Rear Axle - AL75HF

Hi everybody. Andy here with etrailer. Let's take a quick look at this Air Lift LoadLifter 5,000 Air Helper Spring Kit for your rear axle. So this has been designed to fit your 2025 to current Toyota 4Runner and on custom fit parts such as this kit, I do recommend taking advantage of our Vehicle Fit Guide here at etrailer. Just pop in the year, make, and model of your vehicle and our Fit Guide will confirm if this kit will work for you or if we have something comparable that will work for you. So if you're doing a lot of towing or hauling heavy stuff, this kit is a helper system for your 4Runner's OEM rear suspension.

This does use airbags, actual rubber air springs that are going to sit between your frame and the rear axle. So when you add weight to the back of your vehicle, things naturally start to sag and that sag can make the steering feel light, it can change how your headlights are aimed and generally make your 4Runner feel less stable. This kit is going to fix that by letting you add air to the bags whenever you're carrying a heavy load. So more air equals more support. And the cool thing is that these are fully adjustable.

If you're towing a trailer, you pump the air bags up and when you're not carrying anything, you run them at a low pressure and then the 4Runner is going to ride normally. The adjustable air pressure is from five to 100 PSI. So this kit is designed to give you up to 5,000 pounds of load leveling support. It doesn't actually increase your 4Runner's official payload or tow rating, but it does help the rear suspension handle weight more confidently. People who tow regularly notice an improvement in stability, braking, and even tire wear because the vehicle stays level instead of sagging.

So as you can see here, I do kind of have these just loosely assembled here. I wanted to give you an idea of what the springs we inchesre gonna look like with the roll plates and the brackets put together, how it's going to look when it's mounted to your 4Runner. But this kit does include everything that you're going to need, the springs, the brackets, the air line, the fittings and everything, everything that you're going to need. Everything's designed to bolt on without drilling on your 4Runner. Once installed, you just need to add or release air depending on what your load looks like that day.

Now something else that I want to mention just kind of for your consideration, if you want ease of use, you ought to consider adding an air compressor system like the one that I have listed there on your page, on your screen rather. This is the Air Lift Wireless Air and this system allows you to adjust the air pressure directly from your 4Runners cab. It's gonna give you flexibility on the go. You're gonna be able to monitor and personalize your suspension settings effortlessly. That's going to ensure that your 4Runner remains level and ready to tackle any terrain. What's nice about this as well is maybe you're doing, you're going over rough terrain or you're rock crawling in your 4Runner. This is going to allow you to also adjust the pressure in your tires. It comes with a line in a chuck there where you can blow things up like inflatables or adjust the tire pressure on your 4Runner. So you've got a lot more capability with this particular system. So if you're interested in taking a look at that, I do have that part number for you on your screen. Take that part number, pop it in the search field of our website. That will take you to that kit and you could add that to your order if you so desire. One other thing I wanna mention, if you want help with installation, we do have you covered. If you take a look at this product page underneath the photo section, we have a link to our Installer Locator. Click that link, answer the questions that it has for you, and that locator will find an installer in your area that etrailer has partnered with to do the installation for you. That's gonna conclude our look today. I do hope that it was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.

Im very impressed with these airbags. So far they are doing the job.
These come with all hardware and instructions. I put 20 psi with no load to see how long the air would hold up. 2 weeks later im now at 15 psi which I'm satisfied.
The previous bags of another brand didnt hold air well even with no leaks.
I can tell the difference in ride quality. I've loaded the bed with landscaping materials and towed my boat with 15 psi and still holding strong. Looking forward to towing my Travel Trailer.
Customer service has also been great!

Would love to know your thoughts on them once you're able to try them out with the travel trailer, too! Thanks for sharing the different things you've used them with. Sounds like they are just the ticket for your scenario :)

@BrookeM Hi Brooke. I finally had the opportunity to tow my travel trailer. Very impressed with the stability and reliability these airbags have performed. I put 40 psi in the airbags using my weight distribution hitch , and it worked well. During my trip a support bar fell off while on the road without me knowing. That told me right there how much support and strong the bags are. Coming back from my trip I had no support bars and put more air (50) PSI. The support bags held up well. I can feel the difference between not having the support bars versus having them. My truck was a little bouncy on wavy roads but not bad enough to have a negative impact on the airbag support If it wasn't for the strength and support from the airbags i wouldn't be confident enough to tow without the support bars When not towing i leave 10-15 psi in the bags. It's amazing how long the air holds up to 3 weeks or so without adding air. Very happy with my purchase

Things are working well so far. I tow and haul during the spring, summer and fall. The most air I put in the bags was 50 PSI. The air still holds pretty good towing.Time will tell if the bags hold up as the bags age.

Watched the install video twice before the shipment got here and had no problems installing it. Also installed the WirelessOne from Airlift at the same time. Picked up some 1/4" clamps to make the air lines look a little cleaner, and hold them in place during our snowy and icy winters. Including the WirelessOne system, it took about 8 hours from the time I washed the underside of the truck until I rolled it back out from the garage. Pulled the camper this morning and all my old issues have disappeared. Truck is level, trailer pulls great, and the cooling system is back to working as needed. Highly recommend this suspension kit!

@ClayM Glad to hear it! What are you towing and how often? Have these messed with your unloaded ride at all? We hear people say they do and then we hear people say they don't, so we are always curious.

Very easy step by step instructions, how to install. It took me about two hours in my driveway. I got it because I haul a 35' travel trailer. Makes the ride a whole lot smoother

Took my time and followed included instructions exactly. Went together well! Haven’t towed with them yet, but definitely raised the back of my Tacoma with 26 lbs of air pressure that I tested for leaks with! Feel like they’ll be a big improvement when towing our 4200 lbs. camper!

These were a great addition to my truck. I moved from Washington to Michigan 1 year ago. Heavily loaded trailer and truck. No sag, no issues. Full disclosure I had to get some custom U bolts made because of my setup, but I have had zero issues. Great buy.

I plumbed my airlines through the license plate which turned out to be very handy.

I didn’t do the install myself. However my mechanic talked me into these after adding a rack and rooftop tent to my ‘14 Tacoma. Absolutely Fantastic. I have a 3” suspension lift and the truck handles as near to stock as I can remember. Awesome product. Easy install (according to mechanic). Thanks all. Oh yes, one issue because I added a leaf spring when I lifted it. He had to find new shackles to allow for fit. FYI

Not quite Overland, definitely camping, hunting fishing. Its my “bugout” vehicle whenever need be. Moving back home to Central NY from MA soon and hoping to spend most spring/summer camping for sure. Love these springs! Seriously has not driven this well since stock. With the rack and rtt on top its an added (roughly) 500lbs and a bit top heavy. Not any more! Thanks all

a very good choice. The F150 did not have enough stock suspension for my 24 foot trailer with a GVER 10,000lb. Now we all know the truck will pull that weight but when you hooked up it squatted. After installing the air lift it does not squat any more and the truck with a 5.0 has enough power to pull the weight. I had Monroe air shocks on it before but they would not do the job. I am very happy with the setup. I replaced the Monroe air shocks with Rancho shock's and the ride is amazing with or with out the trailer. This was a great investment for the long haul.

The Air Lift is working GREAT a year later. We just hauled a Generac 705 miles up north and brought a load of big rocks back for a guy that wanted to build a waterfall for his coy fish and the Air lift system was able to handle the weight just fine and rode great. Every one comments about how smooth the truck rides. The Air Lift system has handled everything we have asked it it to and has been trouble free. These will go on every truck I won in the future.

by:
Installed yesterday and tried them out with the fifth wheel loaded. Leveled my truck out in seconds with a compressor. The installation video on the same page as the product was extremely easy to follow. Also, Joy was awesome with helping me select what I needed over the phone. Very happy with this.
by:
The airbags did their job! I’ve got a 2021 Toyota Tacoma, and I’m really happy with the results so far. I only had to put in about 10 psi, and that was more than enough to handle the weight of the dump trailer. The install was a bit tedious and took around 3 hours total. The left side definitely took longer than the right.

Besides the time it took, I am glad you were able to get these installed and notice a difference right away! They look nice installed. Are you towing anything other than your dump trailer?

by:
I had the airbags installed at my local auto shop. It took them 4 1/2 hours to install them. The kit I purchased didn't include a heatshield to protect the airbag from the exhaust pipe so I had to contact Airlift to get one sent to me. It's been 12 days since contacting them and haven't received the part yet.

Install on a 2026 F350 SRW. Love the product and have zero issues with that itself. The reason for the 4 star is the clearance with the factory sway bar and brake lines. It does mention that in the instructions, however it's extremely tight and I'll definitely be checked for rubbing in the future to make sure I don't have clearance issues. Otherwise, they work great paired with the Airlift WirelessAIR compressory system, zero complaints on the usability of the product.
by:
Quick and easy install for anyone that can use a wrench. Bags help a ton with eliminating squat on the truck. If pulling trailers is in your daily routine then they are a must. Pull the trigger and order ya some. You won’t regret it and it’s the best bang for your buck

Glad to hear you are still liking them, Zach! Are the picture you sent in before or after the bags were installed? If it's after, I think you could actually go with a little higher pressure to really level out!

This kit was very easy to install and is working well. Clear instructions, good quality parts, and is working as intended. As always, Etrailer has been great with support, fast shipping, and everything I needed for this project.

Dodge Ram Pickup
I just completed the install of this Airlifter 5000 series air bag kit. First, the kit, without a doubt, is a high quality kit with many of it's components designed specifically for specific vehicle application. I installed it under the rear of our new-to-us 2021 Ram 1500 Crew Cab Laramie 4x4 Ecodiesel. I was very pleasantly surprised by the nice and robust powder coating of the metal mounting plates. That means protection for them for a long, long time. The hardware/fastners were/are of decent quality also. And, while the "springs" used for the temporary carriage bolt retention in part of the install are a good idea, I have maybe a better way of doing that. In my opinion, for whatever that's worth, here's a suggestion.
Since there are TWO of those carriage bolts that have to be installed AT ONE TIME, you now have to deal with those two long tailed springs, carriage bolts that continue to fall backwards into the abyss of the frame, all the while trying to maneuver the frame mount plate into position. Then, trying to retain tension on the tails of those springs that retain the carriage bolts, and align the bolt tips to enter the mount plate, and then, if and or when you get the mount plate into position and both bolt tips are protruding through it, you now have to hold ALL of that in place, while you remove at least one spring so that you can now grab a nut (a feat unto itself) and fit it onto the tip of one bolt, all the while trying to hold tension on that bolt so it won't fall backwards into the frame and start threading it.
Then, once it's threads are started, you can no concentrate on the same operation for the second bolt. What a serious pain in the petute!

But instead of the springs and tails to be used to retain the bolts while prepping to install the mount plate, you use whatever their called, a very, very thin retainer clip or washer or "push clip" (I really don't know the name of them) that are used to retain the drums onto hubs on an axle, ALL THOSE PROBLEMS would be over.

You'd simply use the springs as before to load and pull the bolts through their respective holes as before. Now, with the one bolt in place, reach through the center hole in the frame that's between the two bolt holes and using a finger, push on the head of that installed bolt. Your finger will now hold the bolt in place. Now, with that bolt held in place, you can remove the spring. Then, PUSH the very thing spring clip right over the threads of the bolt and it will "ratchet" down the threads until it bottoms out against the frame. You have now LOCKED that bolt in place and you can let got of it with your finger and that bolt isn't going anywhere!!!!!!!!

Now, do the same for the second bolt. Now, both bolts are held firm in place WITHOUT the long and cumbersome tails of the springs. You can now grab the mount plate and push it up into place and over both exposed sets of threads at the same time WITHOUT FEAR of pushing the bolts back into the frame. You can now hold that mount plate in place while you grab one nut at a time and thread it all the way on. Then do the same for the other nut.

To me, this would be waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay easier than the method you (and I, and any installer, be it a shop or a home install) are presently using. If I had a link to what kind of clip I'm talking about, I'd link it.

But, those clips are seriously thin yet are quite capable of retaining those bolts and will not hinder the mate-up of the mount plate to the frame sides. Sure seems worth a looking into to me. Just a suggestion.

I load my F350 just under its legal limit of payload with my 5th wheel. I had initially relied on overload bump stops to prevent sag, but the ride was far too uncontrolled for my liking. I have used Airlift bags in the past on a previous vehicle and loved them. I bit the bullet and installed them on my F350 SRW and could not be happier with the ride quality and control they provide. Instead of bouncing and bucking us out of the seat while destroying steering authority on the HWY, now I have control of my payload and a stock ride when I am unloaded. I should have gone with the bags to start and I cannot recommend them enough for all the 5th wheelers out there or anyone else who tows heavily on a regular basis. The kit supplied everything needed, although I added a simple piece of bar stock to mount the schrader valves. Very clear instructions that were easy to follow.

I can’t believe how much putting these rear springs on my 2021 Jayco Alante Class A has helped the whole suspension and ride.
We took the RV all the way to Alaska through AB, BC, and Yukon Canada. I started with low pressure at 60 psi to see how it performed but ended up having the air set at 80 psi. I would definitely recommend these to anyone with a Ford F-53 suspension who struggles with the ride and comfort.
by:
2024 Toyota RAV4
Installed on 2019 Toyota Tacoma. I previously installed an add-a-leaf kit on the truck thinking it would 1. Lift the suspension to match the Bilstein 5100’s in the front and 2. Increase load / decrease sagging under load. While the add-a-leaf did raise the rear of the truck nicely, as I began to add tools (weight) it still sagged. The Load Lifter 5000 took care of this problem. Now I load the truck (or hook up a trailer) and simply add air pressure to the helper springs to bring the truck up level. I chose not to install the on-board air compressor. Instead I carry a portable, hand held compressor in the truck. I dial up the pressure I want and hit “go” and this seems to work well for me as I rarely need to change the pressure anyway. Nice to know when you empty out the truck you can reduce the pressure and go back to a softer ride. Also, I off-road some and was concerned about exceeding the travel of the helper springs and possibly causing damage so I also installed the kit that allows you to disconnect the helper springs from the rear axle and allow it to rest in a cradle. When full leaf extension occurs the helper springs raise out of the cradle and return there again when the leaf returns to normal position. This keeps any damage to the helper springs from occurring due to over extension.

After a year of use I can safely recommend this product!

I installed the airbags on my 2015 Ford Transit to help with the heavier weight after converting it to an RV. The airbags were fairly easy to install. All the parts were included with the kit. I chose to use the manual inflation option by running the air tubes to the back of the van and mounted the fill valves under the bumper. There is a noticeable difference in the sway of the van going around corners and the sag in the back of the van when fully loaded. It's easy with a bicycle tire pump to adjust the firmness of the airbags. A great addition to the safety of the van.

The installation was not that difficult. I did not use the wire harness bracket supplied, my 2024 F250 I unplugged the harness form the truck sided bracket all the lines run up to and rerouted the harness much cleaner installation

Airlift Bags have performed well, compressor does adjust more at low pressure 10 psi I assume for air temp change, I have checked for leaks multiple time and none found. 6500 towing miles at 80 psi with little auto adjusting pressure and no issues.

Truck rides nice with 15 lbs of air. F250 didn't have the factory bolts that are shown in the videos. It required 2- 3/4" bolts nuts and lock washers. 2 5/8" bolts nuts and lock washers. I had to drill the small hole there wasn't any. It installed very easily though
by:
Installation was not difficult. Excellent for the intended purpose of leveling the vehicle with a bumper pull RV trailer connected. Has made the ride for the rear seat passengers uncomfortable when not towing. Have not found a PSI that alleviates this.

Inflation valves tend to loosen. Must be checked regularly. Suggest some type of lock washers be supplied. The only way I found to improve the rear seat ride is to decrease tire pressure. I only do this when expecting passengers so I don’t wear the tires excessively.

Airlift 5000 arrived on time and was not complicated to install, working good for me. Pulling a fifth wheel camper and it helped to tighten up my suspension and make it handle better.
