Is There Solution for Installing Powered A-Frame Jack in Trailer with 1-7/8 inch Diameter Hole

Updated 09/29/2025 | Published 05/14/2025

Question:

Looking for electric trailer jack to install on a 1999 Fleetwood. The hole on the top of the A-frame tongue is 2 but the hole on the bottom plate is slightly smaller at 1 7/8. Is there a jack that can accommodate this? Looking for 3,500-5,000 lb.

We don't have any powered a-frame jacks that have an outer tube diameter that is 1-7/8 inch like you are needing. Would you be open to enlarging the hole to fit one like the # e23ZV?

Hey, did you decide to enlarge the hole to fit the electric trailer jack we discussed? I'm curious to know if that worked out for you, as it might help others facing a similar situation.

@JamesonC Yes I bought a die grinder with a carbide rotary burr bit and enlarged the bottom hole and installed a new electric jack. It works fine! I guess a 1999 trailer is too old to expect a new jack that would fit without the modification.

@AllenS Older trailers can be a little harder to deal with but I am glad you got it figured out!
