Can Demco Autoslide Be Used On 2025 Ford F450 With 8' Bed?

Updated 09/29/2025 | Published 05/05/2025

Question:

I have 18K Demco Autoslide. I sold my truck and will be getting a 2025 F450 with the 5th wheel/Gooseneck package. Old truck had above bed rail system. Do you have a conversion kit for the autoslide? Or would the Autoslide work in my new 8ft bed?

Hello Paul, you came to the right place. The best way to convert your 18K Demco Autoslide to work with the factory puck system in your new Ford F450 will be to simply replace the side plates. You can remove the ISR side plates and replace them with the following:

- Replacement Side Plates for Demco Autoslide 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch - Ford Super Duty # DM6033

The Autoslide it typically recommended for short bed trucks but the puck spacing in the long bed is identical so it will be fine to use with the 8' bed once the side plates are replaced.

Hey Paul, did you get a chance to replace the side plates on your Demco Autoslide for your new Ford F450? I'm curious to know how it worked out for you, as it could help others looking to make a similar conversion.

@JesseM It worked for replacing and drives well. Even though the autoclave is not needed for my f450's 8ft bed, I will continue to use as it was a big investment.

@Paul Great! Glad to hear it worked out! Those autoslide hitches definitely aren't cheap so that is a good call. Feel free to come back anytime you need anything!
