Question:
Hello. I have a 2025 toyota land cruiser with a PT970-60241 rack. I have never used a rack before. We are going on a road trip and want to use the rack to put additional items/luggage. We would like to know what bag to use to store our luggage in on the rack. Also, what do we need to secure it. Any advice is appreciated.

Hey Michelle,
We have some good options for roof rack storage bags for you, all ranging in different sizes. I did some research and it looks like your roof rack is factory that covers most of your roof for plenty of storage capability. For a larger storage space option I recommend # CS64FR, CargoSmart Rooftop Cargo Bag. This has a 15 cubic feet carrying capacity, and is 40" long x 38" wide and 16" tall. It comes with integrated tie down straps to be able to attach to your roof rack. It is make of a waterproof PVC polyester mesh that protects your cargo from weather and UV.
For a smaller option we have # RL100A50, Rightline Ace Jr Rooftop Cargo Bag. This has a 10 cubic feet carrying capacity and is 36" long x 30" wide and 16" tall. It is made of a similar PVC polyester material. Attachment straps and clips are included with this bag as well as a integrated protective sipper flap for extra weatherproofing. I have attached some in-depth showcase videos of these products for you as well.
Rightline has a great line of cargo bags with good weather and UV protection. Do you know how much space is on your roof rack to maybe find a more "exact fit" cargo bag for you?

Hey Nick. This is great info sorry it took so long to get back to you. DO you suggest ratcheting the bag even though it has the integrated straps or are they truly strong enough for a long journey? Is this for heavier suitcases or does everything in it need to be lighter. Last question...how does the rightline compare to the Rhino Thx again
