Can I Use the Hollywood Racks RV Rider on the Back of My Airstream? What Rack will Work for e-Bikes?

We own a 27 Airstream travel trailer, with a welded 2” receiver to frame with added cross members with 300lb capacity, by Cliff’s welding in AZ. Would the Hollywood Ebike rack now be appropriate? Thank you…

Hello Hart,

Wow, that is an awesome picture. Looks like a stunning campsite too, those boulders and the dramatic sky make for a beautiful scene!

We do have a bike rack that will work great for your setup. However, I can't recommend the Hollywood Racks RV Rider Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes - 2" Hitches - Frame Mount # HLY64FR, since it's not rated for use on the back of travel trailers. The extra bounce at the rear of a trailer can cause damage, and using it in that location would void the warranty. There's also a real risk of component failure that could lead to an accident.

Instead, I recommend the Swagman E-Spec Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes - 2" Hitches - Frame Mount # S94FR. It’s specifically rated for travel trailer use, has a 70 lb per bike capacity, and is a great match for your 300 lb tongue weight hitch receiver.

@HartP I had a feeling, I actually grew up in the Mojave Desert. It is so beautiful out there, I still get out there to visit family, but I now call Missouri home. -Safe travels =)
