On Trailer Suspension is It Normal to Have Gap Between U-Bolts and Leaf Spring Side

Question:
I have 1-3/4 springs and a 3inch Axle. I just received this item and but with this plate theres about a 1/4inch gap between the u bolts the the leaf springs. Was i sent the wrong item?

Hey Henry, having a 1/4 inch gap between the sides of the leaf springs and the U-bolts isn't a big deal with your kit part # APUBR-9. I attached a picture that shows this kit installed with a similar gap.
