Which Weigh Safe Weight Distribution System for Rockwood 2616BH Ultra Light
Updated 10/22/2025 | Published 04/14/2025 >
Question:
2Im getting a Rockwood 2616BH Ultra LIght at 20foot 9inch with a tongue weight per the site of 938 lbs and dry trailer weight of 7134. It has carrying capacity of 1604 lbs. And has a torsion bar suspension. I have a 22 Ram 2500 Hemi with a 3K payload and 15K max tow rating. So, It appears I need the 2.5 inch shank, and the 12.5K GTW and 1.2 tongue weight unit. Please confirm, but also how do I figure the and size to order for that? The trailer is 500 miles away. Do I need to get the dealer to measure the trailer height level or Can I just figure it with my truck? I know about the 11 inch minimuminch under the draw bar.

Hey Karl, yes the Weigh Safe weight distribution system part # WS59MR that you referenced would be a great option as it fits your hitch size of 2. 5 inch and also has the correct weight rating for the Rockwood you plan on getting. This can do a drop of up to 6 inches as well which would easily allow you to tow your trailer level.

Hey Karl, how did things go with the Weigh Safe weight distribution hitch for your Rockwood trailer? Did the 6-inch drop give you a level setup with your Ram? Your feedback could help others matching similar rigs.
