Hey Henry, with leaf springs like the part # EM28AJ there isn't a torque spec for the shackle bolts that secure them as they need to be able to move freely. So the trick is to use lock nuts so they won't back off. So using them snug them up by hand with a wrench and then back off 1/4 turn to allow the needed movement.

How about the torque specs on the I bolts that attach the leaf springs to the axle?

@BrianC That will be based on the diameter of the U-bolt. For example 1/2 inch u-bolts are normally torqued to 45 - 70 ft lbs.
