Looking For E-Bike Rack To Use On Boreas XT Overlander Trailer

Updated 10/22/2025 | Published 03/29/2025

Question:

I need your help please. I tow a Boreas XT overlander trailer. I want to carry 2 ebikes . Each bike weights 61 pounds. I am considering a Kuat Pivot V2 arm and a hollywood model HLY64FR . Would this be a safe and workable set up? What else would you suggest Thank you

Hello Tim, thanks for reaching out. The setup you mentioned would not be safe or usable. Main reason being the Hollywood Racks RV Rider Bike Rack # HLY64FR and the Kuat Pivot 2 Swing Away Hitch Extender # PVD20B are not rated for use on a bumper pull trailer. Even if you were to do just the rack without the swing away, this would not be safe.

My recommendation for a travel trailer approved e-bike rack is the Swagman E-Spec # S94FR. This has a capacity of 70 lbs per bike when used on a travel trailer. It can accommodate tires up to 5" wide, and a wheelbase of up to 48". This cannot be safely used with a swing away extension though. You would have to do the bike rack only.

I hope this helps. Feel free to reach out with any other questions or comments and I will get back to you.

Hey Tim, how did things turn out with the Swagman E-Spec rack on your Boreas XT trailer? It sounds like a solid option for carrying your e-bikes safely. Your update could make it easier for others towing similar trailers.
