Upgraded Equalizer For Trailer With 5-3/4" Equalizer Measurement and 33" Axle Spacing

Updated 10/22/2025 | Published 03/27/2025

Question:

I would like to upgrade my travel trailer suspension but the current hanger bracket dimensions prevent me from using the Morryde CRE3000. The spring hangers only have 2 clearance from the spring mounting hole to the frame. It has a 33 wheelbase and it is 59.5 between the end hangers. The current equilizer has 5.75 between the horizontial holes and 2 vertical to the upper hole. Can you recommend an upgraded shock absorbing equilizer kit that will fit?

Hey Daryl! Based on your measurements you need the Dexter E-Z Flex Suspension Kit # K71-652-00. This matches your 5-3/4" and 2" measurements so you won't have a problem with those hangers. The kit also comes with wet bolts, bronze bushings, and heavy-duty 2-1/4" shackle straps. Kevin installed these on my Jayco, which you can see in the attached video, and I can say they have really improved the ride quality. If you need anything else feel free to reach out in the comments below.

Hey Daryl, how did the upgrade with the Dexter E-Z Flex suspension kit go on your trailer? I'm curious if it gave you the smoother ride you were looking for. Your feedback could help others thinking about the same change.
