Question:

Im trying to understand the difference between the curt 17062 and the curt trutrack 17601. What is the benefit of the fixed support vs chain models? 2022 Dodge Ram 1500 Classic Quad Cab 5.7L 64inch w/ 3.21 axle ratio 2024 KZ Sportsman 260BHSL

Hey Rey, so I prefer the Curt TruTrack 2P part # C69JR over the Round Bar kit part # C17062 because the 2P has better ground clearance and has it's friction sway control built into the spring bar hangers instead of having a separate friction sway control unit that has to be installed and setup every time. They both function about the same though aside from that which is why the 2P is just the better option.

Hey Rey, how did things go with the Curt TruTrack 2P setup on your Ram and KZ Sportsman? Your experience could help others trying to decide between the TruTrack and the round bar system.

@JamesonC I appreciate the information. I didn't end up going with the Curt TruTrack 2P, but I did end up with the VEVOR Weight Distribution Hitch, 1,500 lbs Weight Distributing Hitches Kit with Sway Control, which is also a fixed support distribution hitch. I'm quite happy with the results. The biggest instability I feel is with strong winds, but I have yet to lose control and everything feels strong and steady for the most part.

@ReyR Right on! We don't carry the VEVOR Weight Distribution Hitch but it seems like a pretty solid option. I believe what you are experiencing would be the same for any weight distribution system so you are in a good spot in that regard.
