Hi Bob! Welcome back! The springs for the Reese 16K Fifth Wheel Hitch item # RP30047 are located in the head assembly. One goes from one side of the hitch jaws to the other side. The long side of the spring (hook furthest from the coils) attaches to a pivot point on the flat rod closest to the jaws. The spring then goes across to the other side of the jaws and attaches to a point just beyond the jaws (close to where the other springs attaches). The other spring has one end attached to the handle from the back of the hitch to the front of the hitch away from the jaws.

Hey Bob, how did things go getting the new springs connected on your Reese 16K fifth wheel hitch? Your update could make it easier for the next person working on the same repair.
