Recommended Adapter for 5th Wheel Trailer to 2012 Ford F-250 with Gooseneck Hitch

Updated 10/30/2025 | Published 02/22/2025

Question:

Hello. I am looking for a hitch adapter to go from a 2012 Ford F-250 Super Duty with a gooseneck ball to a 2005 Keystone Everest Fifth Wheel. I just went through your system and saw options for above and below ground rails, but was wondering if the B and W Companion would work? Something that would just attach into the gooseneck? Or would you recommend something else? Ive heard that some adapters cause strain on the 5th wheel frame, and Id like to avoid that, but we also dont plan on travelling with it much and are looking for something somewhat economical.

Hey Erin, thanks for reaching out!

The B&W Companion # BWRVK3500 is only compatible with the B&W gooseneck hitch system, but we do have some other hitch options that will attach to a gooseneck hitch ball and provide a 5th wheel connection.

One of the most popular options for this configuration is the Andersen Ultimate # AN67VR mainly because of how lightweight it is (35 lbs).

If you're looking for something different, please let me know and I'll be more than happy to continue looking into this with you!

Hey Erin, how did things go with the Andersen Ultimate hitch for your F-250 and Keystone Everest? Your update could make it easier for the next person trying to choose between a gooseneck adapter and a lightweight 5th-wheel option.
