2025 RAV4 Hybrid Muffler Bolt Torque Spec

Question:

I just placed order for the Curt Trailer Hitch for my 2025 Toyota Rav4 Hybrid SE. To install, I need to remove the muffler bolts. The specs are given for torque of the bolts to the rack bolts, but not for the muffler bolts. How much torque to apply to the muffler bolt? Do I need to use red Loctite to ensure it stays secure for either the rack or muffler bolts?

Hey Ken; are you sure you need to remove the muffler for installation? We haven't had a chance to install the # C13416 on a 2025 yet but on the 2024 RAV4 Hybrid there was no need for muffler removal. Take a look at our installation video below. This is also the reason you won't find those torque specs in the instructions. If you really think you need to remove it to install the hitch you will need to call your local Toyota dealer to ask them the torque spec since we don't have that information available.
