Updated 02/04/2025 | Published 01/08/2025

Question:

Im having trouble replacing my toilet. Most bases are far too large. Ill try and attach a photo to explain. As you can see, the base size is limited. From the flange bolts to the wall is 5.5”

Hey Kristopher, thanks for reaching out and providing all of the information!

I see where the confusion is coming into play on the fitment of a replacement toilet. The rough-in measurement for clearance has to do with the distance from the center of the flange (or mounting bolts) to the back of the toilet where it would make contact with the wall. Since you have that little "step" at the back of your toilet it's skewing your measurement.

To check fitment, I had the Thetford Aqua-Magic Style II Part-Timer RV Toilet # TH35SE pulled from the warehouse and I can verify that the base part of this toilet will definitely fit within the 5-1/2" distance you measured. All you have to do is verify that from the bolt to the back of the wall isn't more than 9-1/2" and you'll be good to go!

I do want to point out that this is a low-profile toilet and the seat is only 12" above the ground. Does that work for your RV?
