Question:
I just bought a 2025 Outback Wilderness and want to install a hitch to haul 3500lb plus a 7 way wiring. I plan to use the Curt Bluetooth brake controller. What part numbers will I be looking for? My last one for a CRV I bought from you all was a Curt and I was fairly happy with it.

Hey Robert, thanks for reaching out. We have everything you need to set your 2025 Subaru Outback Wilderness up with a hitch and 7-way. Here is what I recommend:
- Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # DT73RR
- Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C56040
- 7-Way RV Upgrade Kit for Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 12 Gauge Wires # ETBC7L
I recommended the Draw-Tite # DT73RR over the other options for two reasons. It has a higher 4,500 lb towing capacity instead of a 3,500 lb capacity like the other hitches. If you are going to be towing 3,500 lbs, I would not want you to use a hitch with a 3,500 lb max rating, since that would be cutting it too close. Also, this Draw-Tite hitch will be an easier install than other hitches. The install video I linked below will show you step-by-step installation. I also included a picture below that shows what this hitch will look like on the Wilderness model.
The two wiring kits I recommended have everything you need to add a 7-way that will be compatible with the Curt Bluetooth brake controller. Since you are using a wireless controller you will not need to run any wires up to the front of the car for brake controller output.
We have the Curt Echo Wireless Controller available as part # C51180 if you still need it. Also, if you need a ball mount for towing, I recommend the etrailer Adjustable 2-Ball Mount # e66PR
You will find install videos for both wiring kits below. Take a look and let me know what you think or if you have any other questions just comment below.

Hey Robert, how did the setup with the Draw-Tite hitch and 7-way wiring go on your Outback Wilderness? Did the Curt Echo controller pair easily through Bluetooth? Your update could make it easier for the next person towing with the same vehicle.
