Gooseneck Coupler to Convert Trailer Back to Gooseneck From Bumper Pull

Updated 11/17/2025 | Published 12/08/2024

Question:

I have recently acquired a triple 6K axel equipment trailer that hauls a 1970 ford backhoe and they converted it to a bumper pull and I want to take it back to a gooseneck. It still has a 4” square tube running down to the young they added, what’s the pro’s and con’s between the 25K round and 25K square putter tube system, is one better than the other? I will be using a 2015 F350 to pull it. Thanks G

Hi Gerry; they're both going to do the same thing so I would stick with the square # GCSQ-25008 since that is what it looks like it originally had.

Hey Gerry, how did things go with switching your trailer back to a gooseneck using the square coupler? Your results could really help others comparing round and square setups for similar heavy hauls.
