Hey Steve, thanks for reaching out. For your 2025 Ford Explorer I recommend the etrailer Class 3 Hitch # e29YR. This has a 2" receiver and a 6,000 lb towing capacity, so plenty for a small/medium size trailer. To go with it I also recommend the etrailer Adjustable 2-Ball Mount # e66PR.
For a wiring harness, use the Curt # C55384 if you have the factory tow package, or the Curt # C56093 if you do not have the tow package. Both are 4-flat connectors. If you are unsure if you have the tow package you can refer to your owner's manual and it should specify.
