Hi Pj; the Dexter Trailer Idler Hub Assembly # 84545BX you looked at is the correct replacement for your 8-248 hub. This is designed for 3,500 lb axles with a 5 on 4-1/2 bolt pattern and uses # L68149 inner and # L44649 outer bearings. We also have the # AKIHUB-545-35-K which comes pre-greased and will save you a little money if you aren't particularly attached to the Dexter brand.

Hey Pj, how did the replacement go with the hub assembly for your 8-248 setup? Did you end up choosing the Dexter model or the pre-greased option? Your update could make it easier for the next person with the same hub.
