What Bike Rack Options do I Have if I Want to be Able to Lower My Tailgate?

I am buying a 2 hitch mount bike rack for a 2024 Chevy Colorado ZR2 pickup truck. I want to be able to open the tailgate. Do I need to buy a RockyMounts BackStage Bike Rack that swings away, or will your other brands that allow the rack to tilt down to the ground allow the tailgate to open.

Hello John.
For lowing a tailgate, I definitely recommend going with a swing away. The RockyMounts BackStage # RKY10002 is a great bike rack and will get the job done, but it is not your only option.
If you were to get the Saris Swing Away Hitch Extender for Bike Racks - 2" Hitches # SAR36VR you could use any bike rack that uses a 2" receiver.
The Yakima EXO Swing Away 2-Bike Rack - Wheel Mount - 2" Hitches # Y92VR is also a great rack as far as a swing -away option, there are some great accessories that you would be able to add in the future.
I saved the best for last, I think that the RockyMounts AfterParty Swing Away Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - Wheel Mount - 2" Hitches # RKY37ZR is the best option for you. This rack not only swings away, but will provide the most clearance for lowering your tailgate when its in the tilting position.
