Updated 11/25/2024 | Published 11/24/2024

Question:

Im looking for a 7 leaf springs for my RV, It has 6 now just want to update to a 7 leaf. The old spring measure 25inch .250. But now is that correct after years of weight on spring is the spring flating out? I see you guys dont have a 7 leaf in a 25.250 but you do have a 24875 in a 7 leaf. My question is was my spring original 24.875 ? What are your thoughts about a 24inch 875 for my application on my RV?

Hey Levi, when picking out trailer leaf springs you want to base it off the axle capacity of the trailer and the length. You want to go with a spring that's about 1/4 inch shorter in length than one of your old springs when there isn't a load on it as they tend to flatten and stretch over time.

So if you can get me the axle capacity of what you have now I can give you a better recommendation. Typically the amount of leaves isn't something to worry too much about for what that's worth.

@Levi Thanks for getting me that! Based on that the correct leaf spring replacement you'd want is the part # e64SR. This is a 6 leaf that matches the length and capacity you would need.

So you think that my springs has flating out 3/8 of inches. Because my old spring measure 25"250 from center to center.

@Levi Yes I believe it's flattened out that much.
