Will Curt A30 Fixed Hitch Work Well in 2025 GMC Sierra 3500 with OEM Pucks Short Bed

Question:

Have you had feedback from buyers who are using the curt a30 non slider on the newer2020 and newer gmc 3500 hd crew with te 6’9” box. Looking to eliminate the adapter plate required to be used with my q20 slider. I realize you have to be careful with sharp turns but wondering if people are getting by using the stationary hitch

Hey Fred, so the Curt A30 hitch part # C16070 is a really solid hitch that does fit the OEM pucks of your 2025 GMC Sierra 3500 and you'll really like. Whether or not it will allow for turning clearance is going to be based on the nose of the trailer you have. If you have a trailer with a tapered nose you'll be fine but if it's a full 8 foot wide square nose then you'll need to stick with a slider.

Hey Fred, how did things work out with the Curt A30 hitch on your Sierra 3500? Did you find enough turning clearance with your trailer’s nose design? Your update could make it easier for others deciding between a fixed or slider hitch.

@JamesonC I have had no problems using the curt A30 hitch and nose clearance when towing our 2019 montana 3720rl. The rubber mount system for the head to base design is a very nice ride improvement over a hard mount system. It fit up with our Gmc hd3500 puck mounting system very well and it is easy to install and remove.
