I need to connect a 5 flat adapter to my 2008 CX9. Where and how do you suggest I tap into the reverse light?

Normally you could use a fuse tap and tap into the reverse light circuit to get the signal needed to install a 4-way to 5-way adapter like part # 20036 on your 2008 Mazda CX-9. If you can access the wiring directly behind the reverse light (like if you were going to change out a bulb) then you could get it there.
