Is A Spacer Required For Air Bags On A 2021 GMC Sierra 3500 AT4 SRW

Question:

I have a 2021 gmc Sierra 3500 at4 SRW do i need any spacer I’ve read mixed reviews if I need a spacer or not I have the 2 inch spacer already. And have all parts just want to make sure before I start assembling bags. Thanks

Hello Mike, thanks for reaching out. Since you already have the parts, the best way to determine whether or not you will need a spacer is to install the brackets and measure the distance between. Then subtract the height of the air bag and see how much space you need to cover. If the gap is 1" or less, you will not need a spacer. If the remaining gap is more than 1", you will need to add a spacer. For the Air Lift 5000 or 7500 air bag kits the correct 2" spacer is part # AL52420.

So I have the bag installed between the axel and bump stop bracket there is a 2 inch gap from the bracket to the bump stop bracket the truck is lifted so the suspension is hanging as low as it can go. Do I need the 2 inch spacer or is this fine I can’t find anywhere that say to do so or not and I don’t want to get to far into it and have to start over thanks

@MikeP If there is still a 2" gap between the bracket and the air bag you will need the 2" spacers # AL52420.
