Updated 10/21/2024 | Published 10/19/2024

Question:

Hello, does anyone make a spare tire rack for a cargo trailer with a 6 high x 2 wide frame? For reference, its an ITI 20 x 8 10,000 GVW cargo trailer. Id like to mount the tire on the front right tongue A frame. Thank you.

Hi Jerry; the only spare tire carrier that may fit your 6" x 2" frame is the CE Smith Spare Tire Mount # CE22011Z-11050-2. This can fit a frame up to 3" wide so you could lay the tire on top of the frame to mount it. The mount is 12-1/4" long so you will have to determine if it can make it around the 6" frame and through the wheel which will depend on your tire width and wheel offset.

The Demco Trailer Stake Pocket Spare Tire Mount # DM15850-52 you looked at could also be an option. This would require adding a stake pocket like # PK-BSP or # TSW-A1800. If you don't mind adding the stake pocket to your frame this would be the best option.

You could also mount it inside the trailer if it is an enclosed trailer. If you can sit it on the floor somewhere the # EM77316 is a good option. You can also mount it up on a wall using the Rack'Em Spare Tire Mount for Enclosed Trailers # RA-16.
