How to Identify a Replacement Hub for 2005 Karavan Boat Trailer
Updated 05/29/2014 | Published 05/27/2014 >
Question:
I would like to buy a hub assembly for my boat trailer, but note sure how to identify the one I need. It is a 2005 Karavan bunk, ez lube hubs, 5 bolt 4.5inch pattern, no brakes, single axle, and carries a 17.5 foot boat. What else can i tell you to help identify it? Thanks.

A replacement hub for your boat trailer can be identified by confirming a few additional details about your trailer. You already have your wheel bolt pattern, 5-on-4-1/2, so the other things you'll need to confirm are your axle's weight rating (usually this can be found on a sticker or plaque on the axle) and the bearing and seal part numbers from your original hub assembly. We recommend replacing both hubs on the axle at the same time.
Based on what we know I have filtered all of our idler hubs (those intended for no-brakes applications) to just those with a 5-on-4-1/2-inch bolt pattern, EZ-Lube fitting and without brakes flanges. Those results can be seen on the link provided. You can use the filters at the left-hand margin to further narrow the results based on your axle capacity and bearing numbers from your original hubs.
For reference I have also linked an article concerning hub/bearing replacement.
