How to Determine Placement of Yakima 60" HD Tracks on an ARE Truck Cap

Question:

I have an ARE z series truck cap and I want to add the roof rack rails. The cap does not have any rails now. Can you tell me the specifications of where to mount your rails? The inside of the cap has a raised portion. Is it supposed to be in the thinner part of the ceiling just passed the raised portion? Thank you for your help.

Hey Joel, thanks for reaching out!

Since the Yakima 60" HD Tracks # Y74MR are universal the instructions are somewhat vague on where to install them because each application will vary.

The instructions are attached to this answer page but I've cut out the part about positioning the tracks and attached it to this page for your reference as well.
