My keystone 5th wheel 2007. My nuts have a tendency of coming loose and cause my axel to shift. The nuts are 1/2 flange lock nuts. Should I replace with nylon lock nuts or try blue low strength locktite and retorque to 70 pounds. Or maybe double nut the u bolts

Hey Johnny, thanks for reaching out!

If the nuts securing the U-Bolts around your axle keep coming loose then it would be a good idea to use ones that have the lock nuts or putting some Blue Loctite # LT37643 on it to keep them secured.

What could be going on is either the U-Bolts are worn out, you're going over fairly rough terrain, or you're potentially overloading the axle. I recommend checking into those things as well.

Hey Johnny, how did things turn out after using the Blue Loctite on your U-bolt nuts? Did it help keep the axle from shifting on your Keystone 5th wheel? Your update could make it easier for others dealing with the same issue.
