1. Count the lug holes
Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).
Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug
2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"
2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at this Americana 15 inch by five inch AM03 Series Gunmetal Gray Machined Aluminum Trailer Wheel with the five on four and a half inch bolt pattern. Now this aluminum wheel is very durable, lightweight, and rustproof. As we mentioned, this is an AM03 series wheel, which you can see, is a five open spoke design and a gunmetal gray finish. And if you look around the edge of the spokes, they do use a machine silver face on the edge here.
Provides a nice bold, sleek look. And in the gunmetal gray finish on the wheel is a nice, bright, glossy finish. They do use the clear coating on both the front, and even the back of the wheel to protect the finish. And a few dimensions on this, the diameter on this wheel is 15 inches, and that's always measured inside to inside. So to measure that, if we take a tape measure, put it on inside to inside, you can see there's your 15 inch diameter.
The width, this is a five inch wide wheel, and when you measure that, it's the same way. It's bead seat to bead seat. So inside to inside, there's your five and a half inch width, or five inch width. Bolt pattern on this wheel is a five on four and a half inch bolt pattern. And if you wanna measure that on a wheel like this, that is a odd number of lugs, in this case, five, then since the holes don't line up, what you want to do is pick any hole, let's say this one, and then you're gonna measure across to either one of the holes right across from it.
But when you measured it, it's from the center of the starting hole to the furthest edge of whichever hole you measure to. So center to the furthest edge is gonna be four and a half inches. So this bolt pattern is a five lug, four and a half inch bolt pattern. This wheel does use the wheel lug size of a half inch by 20. Weight capacity on this wheel is 2,200 pounds.
And one of the nice features I like about this wheel is they do use steel inserts in the lug nut wells, and that's where you tighten down your lug nuts. What those steel inserts do is they'll keep the wheel securely in place on the trailer hub, and they'll prevent those holes from elongating or wearing down. Eliminates the need for constant re-tightening of your lug nuts. If you notice, the center cap is not included. If you want to have a center cap, we do sell those separately. When you get a center cap, you do wanna make sure it has the same diameter as the pilot hole. This pilot hole diameter is 3.19 inches. Now this wheel does meet the DOT, Department of Transportation specifications, and at SAE J2530 standards. But that's gonna do it for the review on this Americana 15 inch by five inch AM03 Series Gunmetal Gray Machine Aluminum Trailer Wheel.

The rims are fantastic, however the packaging is horrible. These rims apparently bounced back and forth in the box the entire time during shipping.

These aluminum wheels feel a lot more secure when torquing the lug nuts than the white steelies they replaced. Also look much better.
Look really nice. Used them to replace 14” wheels on the camper so I could put heavy duty tires on.
I have been happy with the quality of the products we have bought in the past, and have not had any issues.
This latest order has a few problems. one of the rims has been damaged along the edge, it is small and will not effect the bead sealing it is just a eye sore. I cannot wait to get a replacement I have already mounted the tire and installed it on a trailer. Three of the center caps are damaged and not useable. Again i could not wait for replacements since I am leaving with this trailer in 2 days to go out of state. I found the same center caps and purchased them at a local trailer place so I could keep things moving.
The rim is what it is, however I would like you to refund me the cost of the center caps.

I ordered 7 of these wheels. This is an exceptional wheel from Kenda USA. I really appreciate the steel inserts for the lug nuts. They definitely aid in keeping the lug nut torqued to spec. All the wheels came properly packaged and were a great price. One wheel came with an imperfection/damage and the manufacture was prompt to rectify immediately after I sent a video and pictures. I rate this wheel an A++ not to mention they look amazing. Thank you etrailer and Kenda.
Wanted a more modern look and these wheels are beautiful on my enclosed trailer.
Had these delivered and installed on our horse trailer. They look great. There were a couple scuffs from shipping but as this is a horse trailer I was not too concerned. They look great on the trailer.

They look great on there, Alan! What are you typically carrying on your car hauler? And what year is that Jeep next to it? Older Jeeps are way cooler than new ones (in my opinion anyway).
Product looks good as described, does not come with center caps. Looking thru those available, there dosent seem to be much for fitment on the available caps.
Wheels are very close in pattern to the stock Ford Tremor wheels. Much better look on the trailer

Wow Harold, those wheels look great! I love the color of your boat too! Where do you mainly take your center console fishing boat out at, and what are you mainly fishing for? We have a Ranger, and like to dabble in some local bass fishing tournaments at the Lake of the Ozarks and Mark Twain Lake here in Missouri.
