Question:
Good morning, I own a Dutchmen Coleman Lantern 17B and would like to install a roof A/C unit on it, how do I find the correct vehicle style on the camper to find the correct A/C unit on your website?

Hey Renzzo,
To find the right AC system for your Coleman lantern you'd need to check the usable square footage and multiply that number by 20. With how small your trailer is a 13,500BTU rated system would be more than enough. RV air conditioner systems require a 14" x 14" cutout hole in the roof in order to install. From pictures I've seen of your trailer there should be a standard roof vent right in the middle of the roof that would also have this same cutout hole sizing that you can use to mount the AC.
For the system I recommend the Furrion Chill HE RV Air Conditioner System # FR52PR if you want the controls built into the air distribution box. If you want a wall thermostat then you'll want the Furrion # FR95PV instead.
The pictures I've seen make the roof look pretty deep so you'll likely have some openings that could allow air being pushed down from the condenser unit to slip into the roof and essentially be wasted so I would also pick up some HVAC tape to seal up that space so all air comes straight down through the vents in the air distribution box.

Hey Renzzo, how did things go with adding the roof A/C to your Coleman Lantern? Did the 13,500 BTU Furrion system fit well through the existing roof vent opening? Your update could make it easier for others working on the same trailer.
