Hey good question Ronald. Weight distribution hitches are made for A-frame trailers, but it is possible to use one on an I-beam tongue. What you do is use a pole tongue adapter like the Blue Ox Pole Tongue Weight Distributing Hitch Adapter # BXW4023. This bolts on to the straight tongue and gives you the outward attachment points for the WD system. I included a few pictures below to show you examples of what that will look like.

The adapter I mentioned is made to work with the Blue Ox SwayPro Weight Distribution hitch like part # BXW0550. This WD system is intended for trailers with a tongue weight between 350 and 550 lbs. If you can tell me the tongue weight of your trailer, I can make sure you get the right system.

Hey Ronald, how did things go with the Blue Ox pole tongue adapter and SwayPro hitch for your I-beam trailer? Your update could make it easier for the next person trying to set up a similar weight distribution system.
