Is Being Within 3 Inches of Level Okay With the etrailer XHD Tow Bar
Updated 01/05/2026 | Published 09/26/2024 >
Question:
Hi, I purchased the tow bar e94ZR a couple weeks ago and would like to avoid using a hitch adapter if possible. The center to the hitch of my RV is 21.5inch from the ground and the center of the tow plate receivers is 17inch from the ground. So with the built-in 1.5 of this towbar, the difference is right at 3. So am I safe to continue this at the 3? I have read that you should use the difference from the RV hitch to the tow plate receivers with other towbars, but that would then be 4.5, if I dont account for the built-in 1.5inch . Just help me clarify this please!

Hey Shawn,
Yep, you're still safe to continue being within 3 inches of level with the etrailer XHD Non-Binding Tow Bar # e94ZR.
You can use the built-in rise/drop of the tow bar to account for this, and don't forget the head tilts so up to 3 additional inches so you're set.

Hey Shawn, how did things go with the XHD tow bar setup once you accounted for that 3-inch difference? Your results could really help others trying to stay within level range on their flat tow setups.
