Question:

Hi, I’m looking for some durable tire chains to bring with me on hunting trips in eastern Washington where I am frequently driving through sticky mud, snow and ice. I drive a 2024 F-250 4x4 with a factory off-road package. It’s got 285/70R17 tires on it which were a factory installed tire with the off road package. Can you advise me on a good tire chain? I will be reversing often so would it be best to not get a cam tightening option? Is 30mph pretty much the max speed with all chains? If the weathers bad I would probably just stay chained up until I can back out of the hills so I’d need something durable. Thanks!

Hey D, for your 2024 Ford F-250 I recommend going with the Titan Chain Snow Tire Chains for Wide Base and Dual Tires # TC3229.

These chains will fit your 285/70R17 tires, has no cams so it won't come undone when driving in reverse, and is made from low carbon steel.

These chains are all going to have a max speed rating of 30 mph, so you are going to be limited a bit with that.
