Question:
I have a 2024 CX50 and it has a 12 volt accessory outlet in rear of vehicle. Is it safe to use this for power source?

Hello Bruce. We actually get this question a lot, and I can tell you that the 12v accessory outlet at the rear of your vehicle is not safe to use as a power source for a converter module. The converter must be wired directly to the battery. This is the only way to ensure they converter has a direct, consistent power source. Using any power source other than the battery will void your warranty. I know running a wire to the battery can be a bit more time consuming, but generally once you have everything else hooked up and you are under the vehicle this step can go pretty quickly.
