Recommended Shackle Strap Upgrade Kit for a 2025 Grand Design 2670MK Travel Trailer

Updated 01/12/2026 | Published 08/31/2024

Question:

I own a 2025 Grand Design 2670MK travel trailer. I want to install the CRE3000 equalizers you sell and replace the OEM shackles. The center to center measurement on the shackles is 2 1/4. My measurements on the wheelbase however show 36 every way I measure it. Concerned since I do not see the equalizer offered in a 36 wheelbase. Please advise

Rick, unfortunately it does not look like there is going to be an CRE3000 kit for your trailer based off of your current shackle strap length.

You can still upgrade your shackles with the MORryde Suspension Upgrade Kit for Tandem Axle Trailers # MR46ZR. This kit includes (8) upgraded 2 1/4" shackles, (8) wet bolts, (6) wet bolts (for suspending equalizers and springs from the hangers), (14) bronze bushings, and (14) locknuts.

Hey Rick, did the MORryde suspension upgrade kit end up fitting your Grand Design trailer the way you hoped? Knowing how it worked out could help others with a similar setup.

@LazerS Yes it did work and improved the ride immensely. I went to the Morryde website and they have a very precise way to reference the wheelbase to the CRE3000 required. Morryde wants you to measure FHS (Frame Hanger Spread) and then reference that to a chart which shows the wheelbase. In the RV world measurements are far from perfect - my wheelbase measured 36 inches but the chart only shows a 35 inch that was close enough. Morryde relies on FHS spread for the correct CRE3000. etrailer should provide a link to the Morryde page that explains how to measure correctly to ensure the correct CRE3000 kit is ordered.

@RickB Good to know, thanks for letting me know! I will see what I can do about getting that added to our site. What has been you favorite spot to travel to so far?
