Wheel Bolt Size for DeeMaxx Disc Brakes

Updated 01/17/2026 | Published 12/06/2025

Question:

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the DE66AR kit has 1/2" lugs and the DE68AR has 9/16" lugs?

Hey Randy! The # DE66AR has 1/2" wheel bolts and the # DE68AR has 5/8" wheel bolts. Are you looking for a complete kit with a specific wheel bolt size? What is your axle capacity? The # DE66AR is also for 7k axles and the # DE68AR is for 8k.

@Randy we don't have a full kit under a single part number but I can help you put one together. You will need the following: -DeeMaxx Disc Brake Kit - 13" Hub/Rotor - 8 on 6-1/2 - Maxx Coating - 9/16" Bolts - 7K # DE68YR (two of these) -DeeMaxx Alpha G1600 Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator for Disc Brakes - 1,600 psi # DE47SR -DeeMaxx Hydraulic Brake Line Kit - Tandem Axle - 20' # DE57SR

Would the DE68YR be the correct item for the 7K, 9/16" studs ?

@Randy yes the # DE68YR is correct if you just need the brakes. This is a single set so you will need one for each axle.

I bought and installed the de66ar on my fifth wheel trailer and love them. I am thinking about switching out my tires and wheels to 17.5 from the 16” that are on there. The delima is the lug size and everthing I’ve looked at uses 9/16 or 5/8. Can you tell me what my options would be? Thanks

@RichardW I would stick with what you have. It doesn't look like any of our 17-1/2" wheels work with 1/2" bolts. There may be some out there somewhere but I'm guessing for that wheel size 5/8" and 9/16" is the standard.
