Does Yakima MajorShady 270 Work on Yakima HD Crossbars

Can you use the Slim Shady mounting bracket and clamp assembly on the Major Shady to mount it on Yakima HD Bars?

Hey Toby,

You don't actually need the SlimShady brackets, you can use the Yakima MajorShady 270 Awning # Y72AV with the Yakima HD crossbars. It comes with the brackets and hardware needed to mount directly into the channels of the HD bars.

Thanks! for the quick reply.Yes, but I already have a Yakima Slim Shady awning and I was wanting to use the Slim Shady mounting clamp and brackets on the Major Shady for the ability to lock the awning and to be able to more easily mount and remove it from my truck. But, I needed to know if the Slim Shady clamps and brackets would work on the Major Shady that I want to buy. Would they fit and work on the Major Shady?

@TobyM Ok, gotcha, you're wanting to use the clamp-on for the MajorShady, thanks for the explanation as I missed that aspect of it. But unfortunately no, the MajorShady is only a bolt-on and won't work with the clamp-on brackets.
